Warm, neutral colours dominate the interior of this residence, bringing out the splashes of colour from the leaded windows that separate the living area from the study and the main bathroom. There is an interplay of light and transparencies that changes depending on the need to catch a glimpse of or hide whatever is beyond. The bathroom is dominated by a mosaic of vitrified ceramic tiles which have been positioned one by one following a customised pattern and into which the corner bathtub seems to “drown”. The same tiles are used for the skirting board, and larger ones for the washbasin top where a cascade of water falls from the wall taps. The fibre optic lighting in the suspended ceiling of the entrance hall defines the reception area and separates it from the rest of the living area, without compromising the perception of unity of the overall space.
The sleeping area covers the whole of the first floor. The sand-coloured resin panels inset with pebbles and shells are a feature of the main bathroom, contrasting with the warm reddish tones of the parquet wood and the exposed beams of the ceiling.
The small bathroom in the basement has the standard tiles, but they are enhanced by the unique way they are laid out: the elements that are usually used to create horizontal Greek fret patterns are rotated in order to define different blocks of the dominant colour that highlight the area of the washbasin and the shower.
